working on one self - widening the field

with dorothea magonet
2 sessions, 9:00 - 11:00  |  repeated mon-tue, wed-thu, fri-sat
venue: C1-062, Main Building (level 1)
suitable for all

These practical interactive sessions in two parts contain several elements. Firstly, by playfully re-visiting some familiar Alexander procedures and using different activities in relation to working with the wall, we shall explore how to encourage our pupils and ourselves to work on our selves.

In the second part we shall broaden the activities out to develop a strong presence: A self with good tone, yet with free, rhythmical movement and undisturbed breathing when encountering the other - be that an object, an instrument, music or a pupil.

We shall expand and adapt these activities for different needs, develop an awareness of the performance space; and make connections to different practices, for example singing, playing an instrument, or teaching.
