Monika Gross is a senior teacher of the Alexander Technique and has taught postural integrity and a variety of performance skills for over thirty years. She was certified in 1985 by Lydia Yohay, a graduate of the second ACAT training class, and has had master classes with Marjorie Barlow, Patrick MacDonald, Marjorie Barstow and Walter Carrington. She participated in the First and Second International Congresses in 1986 and 1988.

She taught AT privately in New York City for 25 years and is the co-owner, along with her husband, of Form Fitness and Function which delivers wellness and presentation services for individuals,
groups and businesses in Asheville NC, in NYC and internationally.

She has been a performance coach for the consulting firm McKinsey and Company and was on the faculty of the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University.

She is a professional theater director and performer and holds a BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she had her first AT lesson in 1976 at age 19 as part of her actor training.

She is also a trained Butoh dancer and puppeteer. She has been a distance runner for 20 years and has completed 11 marathons and three Empire State Building climbs.

She is a founding member of Alexander Teachers of the Mountain Area (ATMA) helping promote a broader awareness of the Alexander Technique in the Blue Ridge Mountain region and beyond.
