Avi Granit currently runs his own Alexander Technique Teachers' Training Course in Tel Aviv, Israel, which he opened in 2006.
Avi studied the Alexander Technique (AT) at Patrick Macdonald's school in London; remaining an extra year following his graduation in 1983 in order to enrich his learning experience.
Since 1984 Avi has taught the AT full-time in Israel, in both Haifa and Tel Aviv. He was the senior teacher trainer at the Haifa School for AT run by Rica Cohen for 15 years (until the school closed in 1999). As part of his compulsory military service, Avi instructed Israeli air force pilots in the technique for over 10 years.
In addition to running his school and teaching private lessons, Avi lectures and gives regular post-graduate AT workshops throughout Europe and all over Israel. He presented workshops at the Freiburg AT Congress ('On the five principles'); at the Oxford Congress ('The three ups') and at the first Lugano Congress ('Direction, Movement and Sequence'). He participated in the last Lugano Congress as one of the 'continuous learning' teachers with other accomplished AT teachers from all over the world.
