A graduate of École des beaux-arts, Paris (1975), Annette is a painter, who also studied ethnology and religion. She co-founded 'ID', an information bulletin (1971) of a feminist magazine called 'Courage' (1974), an independent newspaper, 'Tageszeitung' (1977).

She also was juror and sponsor of the Ethno-Film-Festival at the Berlin State Museum (1996). She has a degree specialization in Electroencephalogram from the Free University of Berlin. Annette qualified in the Alexander Technique in Berlin (2003-2014) and studied a German methodology, which is similar to the W. Bates vision improvement program, from 2006 to the present.

Wolfgang Hätscher - Rosenbauer at the 'Institut für Sehtraining Deutschland' was Annette's teacher for the Method of Holistic Eye Training (Methode der ganzheitlichen Augen-Schule). Since 2007 she has repeatedly attended further training sessions based on a combination of the F. M. Alexander technique & a derivative of the Dr W. Bates method.
