Terry Fitzgerald EdD has been teaching the Alexander Technique since 1978. He is also a highly qualified and experienced teacher of ballroom dancing.
After working initially as a Public Health Engineer, he completed Alexander Technique teacher training with Patrick Macdonald. He was the founding Chair of the Australian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (AUSTAT), and for 11 years the Director of The Sydney Alexander School teacher training program.
Terry has a Masters degree in Adult Education and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). His thesis was titled "The future of Alexander Technique teacher education: Principles, practices and professionalism” (hdl.handle.net/10453/20042). He is a teaching member of AUSTAT, STAT and ATI.
Terry also works as a researcher in professional practices and teacher education at UTS.
