Elke Mastwijk took her first Alexander lessons more than 25 years ago. As a young child she witnessed much back trouble in her family and she became curious about methods that could help her prevent it for herself. Three years after her first lesson she trained as an Alexander Teacher. After qualifying from the Alexandertechniek Opleiding Nederland in 1996 she attended a post-graduate term at the Constructive Teaching Centre with Walter Carrington. Curiosity led her to study CranioSacral Therapy and Reflex Inhibition Therapy. These methods go beyond Conscious Control and address issues that often go unnoticed but which deeply affect balance, attention and coordination. She brings relevant knowledge from these disciplines to the Alexander Technique, which remains her biggest passion. She finds joy and inspiration in her work with horses where she brings all disciplines together.
