workshop: fri 14 aug | details

Corinne teaches the Alexander Technique to Music Majors at the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University and privately in Boone, NC and in Angers, France. Her practice is called Light in Being (see website).

Following her 3-year training in the Carrington tradition, she spent two additional years training with Tommy Thompson, deepening her experience and understanding of the Alexander Technique as applied to performing artists. A professional cellist, she especially enjoys guiding performing artists both individually and in group settings.

'My work combines my experience as a professional musician and Alexander teacher with the profound influences I have received from my mentors (Arie-Jan Hoorweg, Tommy Thompson, David Gorman…) over the years. I seek to liberate the performing musician’s confidence and range of expression through specific practical application activities, as well as an understanding of how learning habits are created and the importance of deconstructing counter-productive patterns.'
