Sarah Barker has been teaching the Alexander Technique to people in all walks of life for forty years. She is Associate Professor of the Acting and Movement at the University of South Carolina and a nationally recognized leader in movement training for actors. She is recognized for her innovative work teaching the Alexander Technique for actors. Sarah’s book, The Alexander Technique, (translated in five languages) has been distributed throughout the world for more than thirty-five years. She has recently published Moving with Ease, an introductory DVD for learning the Alexander Technique, also published in Japanese language version March, 2012.
She is often an invited guest teacher to Alexander Technique schools around the world. She has presented over sixty panels and workshops at conferences including Alexander Technique International, The International Alexander Technique Congress, the Association of Theatre in Higher Education,
Sarah Barker coaches and choreographs movement professionally for the theatre and has also acted professionally and in the academy.
