How do you express this in your work?
Session 1: Teaching Alexander’s method for re-educating psycho-physical unity.
There is a set of philosophic assumptions and theory implicit when we teach. In this workshop we will explore and identify how these are expressed in the way we teach. We will work in small discussion groups and then bring emerging points back into plenary. A framework will be provided to record learning from your experience in the course of this process. This framework will facilitate both personal and shared reflection. At the conclusion of the first session some questions will be posed to prompt concerted reflection to feed into the next session.
Session 2: How does this approach to teaching and learning align within wider educational practise and movements?
Following a short didactic description of some history of ideas and development of educational movements we will break into small discussion groups. We will draw on insights generated in the first workshop to explore issues arising. A framework will be provided that will enable the whole group to explore questions about the training of teachers.
